In 1948, Mr. Tony Coryn bought a local ice
cream mix plant in St. Petersburg. While getting started, Mr.
Coryn ran a soft-serve ice cream stand, Snow Peak, in the evenings
to make extra money. Within 10 years, Mr. Coryn had grown out
of his small plant and moved the business to its current location.
In the larger plant, Dairy-Mix was able to increase its volume-producing
capability. A big turning point for the business was in the
late 50s when Mr. Coryn was approached by Fred Turner. Fred was
the co-founder of a growing fast-food chain named McDonald's.
We have been the shake and sundae mix supplier to the McDonald's chain
since 1958. We have also supplied to Dairy-Queens in the area
for the past 53 years.
Since then, the plant has
gone through almost a half of dozen renovations. We are a unique
facility in that we solely produce ice ceam mix. We are considered
one of the largest ice cream mix producers in the state of Florida,
supplying to 2 major restaurant chains, wholesale distributors
and ice cream parlors. Our plant is a computer operated facility
with state-of-the-art equipment that produces a consistently high
quality mix. We have the capacity to produce up to 50,000 gallons
of mix in one day.
